We hope to activate the Brazilian blogs again in the near future.
The PhotoBloggers

Message to Brazil & Chilean users

In order to keep offering the fastest service without compromising on the positioning of PhotoBlog, which is all about high quality visual narratives, had to desactivate the Brazilian & Chilean blogs and no longer allow users from Brazil & Chile. Together with our hosting partners and technical staff, we are taking measures to re-activate Brazil & Chile again very soon.

Those two communities are exploding very fast these days and we want to be sure to be able to support this growth! Nobody wants the whole system to crash. We hope that you will understand that it is vital for the future of your photoblog.

Until then we will further support all other countries without compromising our service levels. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We love Latin America, which is why we welcomed all Brazilian & Chilean users. However, we didn't expect this growth. Ine, Maarten, Anthony, John and Frank have been working day and night to sustain the growth. Our hosting partners have done the impossible -a very warm thank you to Dommel, who tried to do the impossible, if you need a shared hosting solution, they are by far the best choice you can make.

We are taking expensive and time-consuming measures to further scale this growth and welcome Brazil again. However, given the fact that many of these blogs are extremely resource intense by 'their nature', we decided to have an outage of some hours when Europe and the US was asleep while desactivating Brazil. The Brazilian & Chilean blogs will no longer be visible, neither will new users be allowed from Brazil & Chile. This allows us to offer a service with no compromise on quality while we work with our hosting partners on extra resources. We hope to activate Brazil & Chile in the coming hours. The pictures remain archived on our disks.

PhotoBlog is all about high quality visual narratives and not about plain dating pictures. We will defend this positioning by all measures, while maintaining an 'open spirit'. We are convinced the users who appreciate our hard work will support us in every way and make this place what it was destined to be.

Shoot bright !
